Magda Kopczynska Assumes Role as Director-General of DG MOVE at European Commission

Magda Kopczynska brings a wealth of experience to the position, having previously served as the Director for Innovative and Sustainable Mobility in DG MOVE since May 2014. Prior to that, she held various positions at the European Commission, dealing with maritime and transport policy, logistics, clean transport, urban transport, and intelligent transport systems. Before moving back to DG MOVE Kopczynska held the post of Deputy Director-General in the DG for Agriculture and Rural Development (DG AGRI).

Before joining the European Commission, she worked as the Director of the Brussels Office of the Polish Employers Confederation 'Letwiatan' and held positions in the Warsaw local administration as the head of the mayor's cabinet and director of the promotion department.

She holds a degree in English literature from Jagiellonian University in Krakow and a post-graduate degree in communications from the University of Warsaw.

Magda Kopczynska's appointment as Director-General was officially welcomed by the European Commission's Transport department on Twitter, with appreciation expressed for the leadership of Maja Bakran, who had been in charge of the department in recent months.
