A month after Ceuta, Spain rewrites its asylum law to EU specification

Madrid's cabinet approved two draft laws on 25 August that import the EU migration pact's screening and border procedures into Spanish law. It is the first hard policy consequence of July's mass crossing — and the basic facts of that crossing are still contested.
